WTF Kind of Source Code is This????!

For some strange reason all the trials and tribulations we had to go through to get a complete set of source code to Aladdin4D 6.0 OS X version reminded us of the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark. In that film they went through some dangerous quests to get the mythical Ark of the Covenant. But once they retrieved this famous artifact they really didn't know what to do with it and boxed it up then packed it away in a remote warehouse. We too find ourselves in the same position.

Sure we have the source to Aladdin4D 6.0 but it’s buggy, feature incomplete and does not include compiling instructions. Without a guide on how it works or even basic building documentation on how to make an executable we are at a loss. This code can’t even render a scene so this makes it even less valuable to us. And progress is being made daily on updating the 5.x code-base into a new version 6.0 for AmigaOS 4, MorphOS & AROS. While this will come as sad news for OS X fans it’s great news for Amiga fans. The 5.x code is well documented and feature complete and renders beautiful pictures out of math. Beginning anew on Aladdin4D 6.0 in 2013 allows us many modern programming conventions that weren’t around even back in 2009. This should make version 6.0 when it finally ships a more solid well rendered release.

Just as an encouragement, as a first time user of Aladdin4D, I have to say even the old 68k Amiga version is easy to use and produces great results. I hope to see an updated AmigaOS4.x version even if delayed, because I like the program.
