Diversification Breeds Innovation.

A few of the platforms that Aladdin 4D currently runs on were born from the ashes of the Amiga platform. MorphOS, AmigaOS 4.x, AROS, Amiga Virtual Machine (Amiga Forever), and even cool FPGA solutions like FPGA Arcade and Minimig.  There has been talk on internet forums that these alternative modern platforms should some how reunite into one Amiga platform. This would actually be a bad thing and will not happen. Customers like freedom of choice and variety in their food and their computer tech.

We have already been there in the past anyway. Commodore Business Machines was greedy with the Amiga technology and did not share or license it. So we have today's computer market made in the Amiga's image but not based on the Amiga directly. If Commodore had licensed the chipset and OS then it would have become more mainstream.

The millions of Amiga sales Commodore did achieve is nothing compared to the exponential sales that compeating similar modern Amiga clones can get to. It just takes time and some marketing in today's very busy and diverse computer landscape. Apple's 100 billion in the bank and over 500 billion in market capitalization proves computer companies can return from near death and go on to achieve record sales plus exciting innovation.

After Death, Comes Rebirth

After the death of Commodore in 1994 the Amiga died with it in a way. Millions of sales died, major developer support died,  a steady release of new applications and games died. Even sales of the legendary Video Toaster in the USA eventually died off for the Amiga. But the Video Toaster was reborn and thrives today in a wide range of portable editing / live video production products called TriCaster. So too was the Amiga reborn as Amiga Virtual Machine (Amiga Forever), Amiga OS 4.x, MorphOS, AROS & FPGA based solutions.

The spirt outlived the silicon. Maybe one day one or more of these solutions will again achieve millions of sales for Amiga fans. So too will Aladdin 4D be reborn. From the ashes of the Amiga platform it will reemerge as a platform independent beginners 3D animation/rendering package. Reincarnation and enlightenment just takes time. The ghost in the machine does not have instantaneous programming skills. Humans must do that and it's not instantaneous, it takes some time to get it right.
