Rosetta Deja vu

One of the most exciting things Apple did when changing to Intel hardware in 2006 was running PowerPC Mac applications in OS X by using a technology called Rosetta. This made it easy for Mac lovers to not lose their investment in Mac software when they moved to Intel OS X machines. Sadly this great feature was removed in later versions of OS X. We got Deja Vu the other day when we saw that the fantastic Amiga Virtual Machine WinUAE was adding PowerPC emulation. Hopefully this is so that eventually customers can run purchased copies of AmigaOS 4.1 Classic on WinUAE (Amiga Forever) Intel machines. Increasing OS 4.1 sales or getting people interested in OS 4.1 is a good thing. Even if it runs slower than PowerPC hardware it gets people to play with the operating system and explore it. AmigaOS 4.1 is one of the planned operating systems that will be support by Aladdin4D 6.0. Aladdin4D 5.x runs lighting fast and is available today for WinUAE or the commercial version called Amiga Forever Premium Edition 2014. This exciting Virtual Machine is available from AmigaKit. AmigaKit also sells the boxed retail version of Aladdin4D 5.x.
